Rats!
Rats! is a great game for practicing a variety of skills in a fun way. The object of the game is help Rusty Rat catch the good items in his basket. The advanced learners are given the choice of nouns/verbs, common nouns/proper nouns, and adverbs/adjectives. The skill selected is practiced until Rusty has been through sixteen levels or until you get a game over. It is a game that my kids ask to play even when it isn't school time. I think you'll love Rats!
Detective Shell's Word Search
Detective Shell's Word Search is an interactive puzzle to play online. There are numerous topics and two levels of difficulty. The easy level has puzzles about number words, colors, seasons, zoo animals, farm animals, and others. The harder puzzles include winter, spring, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, reptiles/amphibians, mammals, birds, the heart, and more. These puzzles are a fun, interactive way to improve vocabulary and help with spelling as the child has to circle each word. You may even enjoy them yourself!
Fraction Frenzy
Fraction Frenzy is a fast paced puzzle type game to help your child practice finding equivalent fractions. It is on a timer and increases in difficulty as each level is completed.
Geography Quiz
This geography game starts by quizzing your child over the U.S. state abbreviations. The next level requires knowledge of state capitals, and to get through level three your child needs to be able to figure out where a state is located from clues given. (Example: "What state is east of Utah and North of New Mexico?")
Spacey Math
A fast paced arcade-style math game designed to make the drill of practicing math facts more fun. It is divided into addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with each section being multi-level. The first level is 0’s, the second 1’s and so on. The children can enter their name to begin at the level they leave off at next time. It gives them a bonus for how quickly they can answer the questions, and gives a score at the end of the level. The needed repetition is provided with an upbeat tempo and a spaceship versus aliens theme.
Mister Elephant's Memory Game
Mister Elephant's Memory Game is an updated interactive version of the old concentration-style matching game that you probably loved as a kid. It is a fun way to improve concentration, work on matching shapes, numbers, letters, colors, and patterns all while building your memory skills. This one is for all ages and gets progressively harder as you go through the levels. Older children will enjoy trying to achieve a high score to get to enter their initials.
